A day trip away from the city of Athens to one of the most historical and beautiful parts of Greece; the land of Argolis in Peloponnese.

After driving along the coastline we reach the Corinth canal and from there the "rich in gold" kingdom of Agamemnon, Mycenae: a citadel situated at a natural-strong point that was the first to be discovered among a number of settlements and citadels that date back to the Late Bronze Age (16th century BC).
The Lions Gate welcomes you and while looking at the remains of the burial circles, we'll put together the exciting puzzle of the world of Mycenaeans, a world of mariners and warlords.

From the land of the Atreides we continue to Nafplio, the first capital of Greece: its colourful streets and elegant edifices will steal your heart and once you discover Epidaurus, later in the day, hiding in its green valley, you'll find easy to understand why the Greeks used drama and comedy to heal a person's soul and mind.

We leave Athens at around 8am and drive to Peloponnese and the region of Argolis; one hour later we take the first stop of the day at the Corinth canal. This masterpiece of engineering brings together the Aegean and the Ionian sea.
From there we continue SW to Argolis. The prehistoric acropolis of Mycenae, the homeric kingdom of Agamemnon rises in all its glory and reminds us of the days that all those great greeks heroes thrived: Perseus, Achilles, Odysseus, Agamemnon. We visit the site and the small museum and of course the renown "Treasury of Atreus" a 3rd millennium BC tomb of amazing size and the shape of a beehive.
Nafplio is just 30 minutes away: the first capital of Greece is one of the most romantic and beautiful towns in the south of our country, loved by greek and foreign visitors. We stroll in the side streets and explore its secrets before we drive to our next destination. Epidaurus: this is where the sanctuary of the god of medicine is situated and the best, most impressive theater of Greece.
